Meet Our Instructors

Our instructors are considered the best in their fields and we are honored to have them share their talents, gifts, and love of music with our students.

A proud Army Veteran and lifelong educator, Gwen Waltower has dedicated her career to helping children grow, learn and thrive. After working in the Beauty Industry she found a calling in Early Childhood education-starting as a Preschool Teacher and now serving as both a Camp and Childcare Director. Gwen also specializes in teaching phonics supporting young learners as they build strong reading foundations. With a heart for children and a commitment to their development, Gwen creates safe nurturing spaces where they feel supported, engaged and excited .

Ms.Keisha is a dedicated teacher with five years of experience in fostering a love for learning among her students. As a proud mother of four, she understands the importance of nurturing young minds and creating a supportive environment for children to thrive. Passionate about art, music, and dancing, Ms.Keisha incorporates creativity into her teaching, and inspiring her students to express themselves.

Born and raised in Michigan, Samiyyah Dixon began her journey in the music industry at a young age as a member of a girl group, quickly gaining attention while opening for powerhouse acts such as Immature, Queen Latifah, and 7 Mile. Her talent determination led her to sign with Priority/Barak Records as a solo artist, where she toured the world, appeared in music videos, and collaborated with acclaimed artists including Dwele and Slum Village, landing her first placements on their classic tracks Fall in Love and Tainted Love.  

As her career expanded, Samiyyah established herself as a versatile songwriter and background vocalist, She earned placements with One Chance (signed to Usher and Clive Davis) and went on to work with Jaheim, Day26, Trevor Jackson, Young Dro, Mullage, and Ne-Yo. Her talent also led to touring opportunities alongside Trey Songz and gospel powerhouse Kim Burrell. 

Driven by a passion for creativity and business, she went on to expanding her reach beyond performing and writing, Samiyyah launched an artist development company and partnered with Bernard Bronner, CEO of Bronner Bros., further building her influence in the music industry. Through this venture, she collaborated with artists such as Estelle Darlings, Bobby V, Pleasure P, and Rasheeda of Love & Hip Hop, solidifying her role as both an artist and industry visionary.  

Samiyyah’s artistry has also extended into film and television. She appeared in two feature films, starred in BET’s Let’s Stay Together, performed on MTV Unplugged with Trey Songz, and was featured on BET’s The Mo’Nique Show. 

In addition to music, Samiyyah embraced her talents as an actress, appearing in films including On Ten, Squatter Rights, and Turnt in 2024.  With her powerful voice, dynamic presence, and ability to seamlessly move between music, songwriting, and acting, Samiyyah Dixon continues to carve her legacy as a multifaceted entertainer and creative force.

Tiera is a passionate and creative leader with a heart for working with youth through the performing arts. At summer camp, she taught kids how to dance, helping them build confidence, express themselves, and have fun in a supportive environment. She also has experience praise dancing at her church, where she combines movements and worship to uplift and inspire others.  

Her background in the arts is well-rounded. She was a dedicated member of the band and served as president of her high school step team, leading practices, choreographing routines, and fostering teamwork and discipline among her peers. These experiences taught her the value of leadership, commitment, and community. 

Whether she is teaching, performing, or mentoring, she strives to use her talents to make a positive impact and encourage others to shine.

Camp & Course Information

Our Camps will be held during the various DeKalb County breaks, from 9am - 1 pm. Students in grades 1st through 6th will have the opportunity to take unique classes in Visual Arts, Worship, Performing Arts, & Music Appreciation. 

On the first day of camp, your child will receive a colorful drawstring bag with fun-themed related supplies that they will need for camp each day. One of the most important supplies will be their group wristband (slap bracelet)!!! We asked that they wear their wristbands and bring their bag and supplies daily. To ensure that your child(ren) has a fulfilling day at camp, please send the following with your child(ren)'s name on it:

        • Lunch in a closed container or lunch box
        • A drinking container filled with juice or water
        • A small/light snack

Join us for a fun and creative Fall Break camp, where we'll explore rhythm through art, music, and movement! Our camp is designed for students in grades 1st - 6th and will be held from October 13th-17th, 9am-1pm.

During this engaging camp, students will discover the connections between art, music, and movement, and how they can work together to create something truly special. Our experienced instructors will guide students through a variety of activities, including:  

      • Creating art inspired by rhythm and music
      • Learning musical instruments and exploring different genres
      • Expressing themselves through movement and dance  

This camp is perfect for families looking for a fun and enriching experience for their children during Fall Break. Our goal is to provide a safe and supportive environment where students can explore their creativity, build confidence, and make new friends.

Join us for a fun-filled camp where creativity meets adventure! During this 3-day harvest-themed celebration, students in grades 1st-6th will explore the arts through a variety of activities, including:  

      • Creating fall-inspired artwork, from leaf rubbings to mixed-media collages 
      • Making festive crafts, such as pinecone bird feeders and paper plate turkeys
      • Playing games and participating in activities that celebrate the harvest season  

Our experienced instructors will guide students through a range of activities that cater to different interests and skill levels, ensuring everyone has a blast. Whether your child loves art, music, or dance, they'll find something to enjoy in our Autumn Adventures camp.

This camp is perfect for families looking for a fun and enriching experience for their children during Thanksgiving Break. Our goal is to provide a safe and supportive environment where students can explore their creativity, build confidence, and make new friends.

Get into the holiday spirit with our Winter Words & Melodies Christmas Break Camp! Join us for a fun-filled camp where students in grades 1st-6th can sing, write, and celebrate the magic of the season. During this 3-day camp, students will:  

      • Sing festive holiday songs and learn new musical arrangements
      • Write their own winter-themed stories and poetry
      • Create holiday cards and decorations
      • Enjoy games and activities that capture the joy and wonder of the season

Our experienced instructors will guide students through a variety of activities that foster creativity, teamwork, and self-expression. This camp is perfect for families looking for a fun and engaging way to spend their Christmas Break.

Carpool

This year, our Holiday Camps will be held throughout our DBC campus. Carpool will begin promptly from 1:05pm to 1:20pm. Each registered family will receive an email with their carpool number the Friday before camp begins. We ask that you print out your carpool card and present it or display it on your dashboard when you pick up your child(ren). If your child(ren) will be leaving with another family, please email us the family name, contact information, and carpool number. Referring to the map below, the camp carpool is indicated by the orange star, the green star indicates the Worship Center location, and the purple star indicates the DSA office.

Registration & Fee Structure

Registration for Camp is open throughout the school year. The tuition is $250 for each student, which is $50 per day. You have the option to submit your tuition payment in full or monthly. If you register after the camp start date, your full tuition will be due upon registration. Please know that no proration is offered for this camp. Multi-sibling discounts are available for families with multiple children. If you do not submit a full tuition payment during your registration from January to May, you will automatically be enrolled in our monthly payment system. Your account will automatically be billed on or around the 10th of each month, September 2025 through April 2026.
